Bakersfield welcomes Walmart with open wallets

KGET reports that the new Bakersfield Walmart Is bringing in over half a million dollars a day since opening on October 28.

Can it be that a city plagued with one of the highest unemployment rates in California, ranked as the ninth worst city for new employment in the U.S. by forbes has throng of people laying money at the feet of a new Wal-Mart Supercenter?

Six years in the making and the Bakersfield Californian plays it safe by telling us an imprecise throng of people showed up at the Wednesday grand opening. Surprise! Some people like it and some people don't.
